Featured Artist: Ron Hammans

Ron Hammans of Drum Point Design will be featuring his space-themed art at the Patuxent River Naval Air Museum. “I have been fascinated by the thermal tiles on the Space Shuttles since the first one flew. I have drawn, painted, and modeled the shuttle ever since. This series of studies is based on photos taken on a visit to the shuttle Discovery at the Udvar-Hazy Smithsonian in September of 2019. Using mixed media construction I have tried to capture the patterns, textures, and technical detail that gives the Shuttles their distinctive look.”
