OUR AIRCRAFT

Located just outside Gate 1 of Naval Air Station Patuxent River, the PRNAM is operated by the Patuxent River Naval Air Museum Association, Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit charitable organization.

First opened in 1978, the Patuxent River Naval Air Museum now spans three buildings and also includes a Flight Line consisting of one-of-a-kind aircraft and aircraft configurations unique to the Naval Test Center.

Pax River Museum’s three buildings contain a range of different aircraft. Explore more about them here:

TEST AND EVALUATION HALL

The Test & Evaluation Hall is our main venue. Here you will find eight different aircraft, two main exhibitions, the Theatre, and the Kids’ Zone with children’s activities. And don’t forget to visit the Flight Line Gift Shop in this building.

FLIGHT TECHNOLOGY HALL

The Flight Technology Hall has a growing variety of aircraft on display, particularly unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), along with engines, ejection seats, and other elements of planes, and our specially focused galleries. Here’s where you’ll find our flight simulators!

FLIGHT LINE

The Flight Line currently has 26 of our collections’ aircraft on display outside where you can get up close with them. Remember to get your picture taken with the famous McDonnell Douglas F/A-18B “Blue Angel” #7.
