Singer Link Flight Trainer
Quick Facts
Quick Facts
The Link Trainer was developed by Edward Link in 1929 to teach aviators how to “fly blind” (no visibility out of the cockpit).
Through the late 1950s more than 500,00 US pilots learn how to fly and navigate in all conditions of degraded visibility.
A hood covered the pilot to force him to fly using only cockpit instruments.
The student’s flight path was plotted on a desktop chart. Many of the instructors were women.
